Description

Participants will be introduced to and explore the factors that influence the supervisory alliance. Models of supervision will be viewed through a multicultural lens including a historical perspective with social justice implications. Stigma and discrimination within the supervisory relationship will be addressed through case studies and personal disclosures.

Learning Goals and Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify the characteristics of an effective and ineffective counseling supervisor.
  2. Participants will be able to explain the factors that influence the supervisory alliance.
  3. Participants will be able to identify cultural issues that may influence the supervisory process and apply culturally appropriate interventions.
