Description
Participants will be introduced to and explore the factors that influence the supervisory alliance. Models of supervision will be viewed through a multicultural lens including a historical perspective with social justice implications. Stigma and discrimination within the supervisory relationship will be addressed through case studies and personal disclosures.
Learning Goals and Objectives:
- Participants will be able to identify the characteristics of an effective and ineffective counseling supervisor.
- Participants will be able to explain the factors that influence the supervisory alliance.
- Participants will be able to identify cultural issues that may influence the supervisory process and apply culturally appropriate interventions.
